Supporting the Community... Iris Stubbs Primary School, South Caicos

On  September 6th 2024, I traveled to South Caicos to support my son, Jrue Parker. The unfolding of the day was nothing short of amazing.

I will say this: we are incredibly proud of the compassionate young man he is becoming. Jrue generously donated our "Handwriting with Jake the Turtle" packets to the Iris Stubbs Primary School students. Additionally, he shared words of encouragement and motivation with the students.

I always beam with pride for Jrue; he always surprises me and keeps me on my toes. Watching him deliver his speech to the students brought tears to my eyes and took me back to the day he expressed his wish to be baptized. Witnessing his baptism was a moment of immense pride for me as a parent. I pray he continues to pursue his dreams and aspirations while remaining true to himself, unaffected by external distractions. His remarkable growth into an outstanding individual at such a young age is truly inspiring, and his commitment to giving back and considering others is heartwarming.

I thank God, my circle, my tribe—you know who you are, Mills Institute—for the exceptional teachers who have had the privilege of teaching and motivating Jrue from Pre-K to now Grade 5.

I extend my thanks to Dr. Keran Toussaint-Williams (Education Department) for her support in organizing the event, to Principal Ms. Earleen Elliott for her warm and gracious hospitality, and, of course, to the talented students at Iris Stubbs Primary School; those children have bright futures ahead. I hope that the words Jrue shared with them will ignite inspiration and motivation within them, showing that age is no barrier to achieving their dreams.
